COMMENTS:  My degree was conferred May, 25th 1969 at The College of Artesia, Artesia, New Mexico.  I have worked as an Oil and Gas Auditor for these many years and recently retired.

... I transfered about 45 credits from Merriman's College in Lubbock, Texas, was accepted and went from June 1966 every tri-mester until I met all degree requirements in January, 1969.  The graduation ceremonies were held May 25, 1969 at the Artesia High School Auditorium, with a reception held at MacHenry Stiff's, Vice President of Academic Affairs, home in Artesia.  I traveled from Dallas to Artesia to be part of those graduation ceremonies which were the very first class to graduate from the College of Artesia.  The diploma is written in English/Spanish since the college required a foreign language for graduation requirements.  I have a Bachelor of Arts in Business.  Some of my professors were Mr. & Mrs. Finley, Jim Cowan (my advisor), Chester Kwiecinski (Art), Bill Rackocy (Art), ...

COMMENTS:  Greetings those who made it to the reunion.

It was so GREAT to see everyone ... feel pretty bad about not making it back Sat.  Even worse that I ran out of time to get at least 15 min one on one with more of you.  The best thing is knowing I'm back on the master list, and will do my best to not go MIA in the future.  Seeing so many C of A at a 40th event is even more confirmation that a very special experience bonded together a very unique set of individuals who shared the unique good and bad of C of A.  long live the spirit.

Cheers
George Cummings (see also my first guestbook entry)

COMMENTS:  I lived in Artesia during CoA early years and knew some of the students.  I recognize the names of Leslie and John Noel, and wonder if Juliano is Joe Juliano.  I remember others in the group such as Tom (C?)Kramer, Bob ? (tall w/dark hair), Sharon Johnson who married Larry ?, Margaret Potter and of course Effie and Fay.  It's great that you are still in touch with each other.  My best to the original CCs.

Thinking of an escape...  I tried tunneling.
One time, I don't know the person's name, at sunset was driving their truck quite fast in front of the dorms, cells, however you remember them, and crashing and flipping the truck from hitting the cemented post.  And Chuck winning the first marathon in Artesia.
COMMENTS:  Zoe, if you ever read this, I am surprised you don't remember going to Roswell, hitching a ride back to Artesia with you sleeping on my shoulder.  I was in contact with Steve Wesstoff for a while.  Fell off the map.  But he'll surface soon.  Steve Tucker is around, I hear.  Jackie Bishop is married somewhere in Il.  Charlie... I remember a lot of good guitar playing.  I remember a lot of old stories, what a place!  Does anyone remember Ted Narrow, and where he is?

COMMENTS:  I was looking for some information on the riot in Albuquerque and stumbled across this page.  Website link/location/URL:

Actually it is factually incorrect.  The author cites the reasons for the onset of it and it's just plain wrong.  I was IN the park when it started and can provide the reasons why.  I was interviewed afterward by a local “street paper” so I'm pretty sure that there is not digital record.  The title was "Three days in Montessa Park".

If anyone would like to set the record straight, I'd be happy to enlighten them.

Curious Journey: Origins (book) COMMENTS:  Curious Journey: Origins
A New Age Traveler's Guide to the Unknown
By Robert Charles Hunter

In today's culture, we all seek rational answers to events that we can't explain, don't believe, or have trouble comprehending.  Curious Journey: Origins is the first in a series of books in which nationally known civic leader, consultant and business entrepreneur Robert Charles Hunter introduces readers to various perspectives of our world, many known as elements of the New Age.

While many of us are quick to dismiss anything New Age as a possible path to answers about our planet, even the most logic-based mind will find some intriguing notions explored in this book.  Origins was written to encourage diversity in thinking…so you may see the world differently after reading it!

So what is the New Age, how does it work, and why are so many people talking about it?

Hunter doesn't seek to provide all these answers, but he does take a refreshing no-nonsense approach to topics such as metaphysics, folklore, historic relics, and many other apparent mysteries.

The first 25 copies purchased will be autographed by Robert Charles Hunter!
